              To coincide with the Queen's visit to the Royal Asiatic Society an exhibition was prepared at the premises of the Society. The material connected with this Exhibition is:

              • Letter from W. Williams Wynn to Mr Beckingham to inform that though they have a portrait of Charles W. Williams Wynn but they will not part with it. He enquires whether a photograph of the portrait would be sufficient, dated 28 August 1968.
              • Appeal notice for invitation cards, etc, designed by Professor Yetts for the Royal Asiatic Society, present in his Papers held by his estate, to be donated to the Society for their anniversary celebrations. With this is an example of one letterhead.
              • Letter from Ray Strong, Director, National Portrait Gallery, to C.R.               The records of the Gold Medal cover the institution of the medal and the conferment of the Honour in subsequent years. They include examples of the medal, the original Declaration of Trust, and subsequent printed version of the declaration, correspondence and newspaper cuttings. However there are not records for all instances of the presentation of the Medal. Researchers are advised to also examine the Council Minutes and the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society (both held in the RAS Collections) when researching concerning the Gold Medal and its recipients.

              • Notes on the meeting of the Société Asiatique and a commission that will be formed. Handwritten on the reverse of an agenda for the Council meeting of 13 February 1917.
              • Letter from the Council, Royal Asiatic Society, to Lord Reay to state that the Council at its meeting passed the resolution that they had great sympathy with the desire of Émile Senart and suggest the formation of a small committee to take this further. Handwritten, undated.
              • Letter from Émile Senart to thank for the invitation to work towards an agreement between the Societies. Handwritten in French, dated 2 March 1917.
