To coincide with the Queen's visit to the Royal Asiatic Society an exhibition was prepared at the premises of the Society. The material connected with this Exhibition is:

• Letter from W. Williams Wynn to Mr Beckingham to inform that though they have a portrait of Charles W. Williams Wynn but they will not part with it. He enquires whether a photograph of the portrait would be sufficient, dated 28 August 1968.
• Appeal notice for invitation cards, etc, designed by Professor Yetts for the Royal Asiatic Society, present in his Papers held by his estate, to be donated to the Society for their anniversary celebrations. With this is an example of one letterhead.
• Letter from Ray Strong, Director, National Portrait Gallery, to C.R. Beckingham, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that his request for the loan of the portrait of Sir Bartle Frere or Professor Horace Hayman Wilson will be put before the Trustees at their next meeting, dated 3 September 1968.
• Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to W.G. Easeman, Museum Superintendent, Victoria and Albert Museum, to ask if the Society may borrow display cases and boards for their exhibition, dated 2 January, 1973.
• Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Miss Mercer, Head Archivist, County Hall, London, to ask if the Society may borrow an interior view of the Thatched House Tavern, where the Society's first meeting was held, dated 5 February 1973.
• Letter from Miss Mercer, Head Archivist, County Hall, London, to B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to confirm that the Greater London Council would be willing to lend a copy of the engraving of the Thatched House Tavern, dated 8 February 1973.

An exhibition "Richard Johnson (1753-1807), Nabob, Collector and Scholar" was held at the India Office Library, mounted for the Sesquicentenary of the Royal Asiatic Society. The material in connection with this exhibition is:

Correspondence concerning the possibility of Asia House hosting an exhibition for the Royal Asiatic Society's sesquicentenary. These are:

• Letter from Robert Skelton, Victoria and Albert Museum, to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to suggest that Asia House might be willing to put on a display and this could be connected with fundraising, dated 8 November 1971.
• Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Gordon Washburn, Director, Asia House Gallery, to ask if the gallery would consider putting on a display in conjunction with the Society's sesquicentenary, dated 20 January 1972.
• Letter from Gordon Washburn, Director, Asia House Gallery, to B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform him that they will be unable to help as the exhibitions in the Gallery are booked through until 1974, dated 15 March 1972.

Letter from Roy Strong, National Portrait Gallery, to C.F. Beckingham, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform him that the gallery would be interested in holding a historical exhibition on British travellers in the East. He will write again if this is achievable, dated 8 April 1969.

Records concerning donations to the Sesquicentenary Appeal.

The records of the Gold Medal cover the institution of the medal and the conferment of the Honour in subsequent years. They include examples of the medal, the original Declaration of Trust, and subsequent printed version of the declaration, correspondence and newspaper cuttings. However there are not records for all instances of the presentation of the Medal. Researchers are advised to also examine the Council Minutes and the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society (both held in the RAS Collections) when researching concerning the Gold Medal and its recipients.

Correspondence, reports and printed material regarding the agreement of cooperation made between the Société Asiatique and the Royal Asiatic Society. These are:

• Letter from Émile Senart to Lord Reay, President, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning the possibility of the two societies cooperating. Handwritten in French, dated 19 December 1916.There is also a typed copy of this letter.
• Notes on the meeting of the Société Asiatique and a commission that will be formed. Handwritten on the reverse of an agenda for the Council meeting of 13 February 1917.
• Letter from the Council, Royal Asiatic Society, to Lord Reay to state that the Council at its meeting passed the resolution that they had great sympathy with the desire of Émile Senart and suggest the formation of a small committee to take this further. Handwritten, undated.
• Letter from Émile Senart to thank for the invitation to work towards an agreement between the Societies. Handwritten in French, dated 2 March 1917.
• Letter from Émile Senart to write concerning the forming of a committee to work with the Royal Asiatic Society. Handwritten in French, dated 9 March 1917.
• Memorandum from the Société Asiatique concerning the appointment of a Committee to work towards more intimate relations with the Royal Asiatic Society. Typed, dated 31 March 1917

• Letter from Émile Senart to Charles Lyall to thank for the the comments on the proposal. Handwritten in French, dated 26 May 1917.
• Notification that the Committee of Royal Asiatic Society had met to consider the memorandum from the Société Asiatique. The memorandum is with this note as is a copy of a further letter from Émile Senart enclosing a protocol of terms of agreement. The letter is dated 21 June 1917.
• Statement concerning the possibilities of cooperation. Typed in French, undated.
• Letter from Émile Senart to the President, Royal Asiatic Society, to write concerning the cooperation between the Societies and to submit a first draft of a scheme formulating the precise terms of cooperation. Handwritten in French, dated 21 June 1917. With this letter is a handwritten translation in English.
• Report of the Committee, Royal Asiatic Society regarding the protocol sent by the Société Asiatique. Handwritten, undated.
• "Terms of an agreement between the Société Asiatique of Paris & the Royal Asiatic Society". Handwritten list of points of agreement. Undated.
• Letter from F.W. Thomas, Secretary of the Committee, Royal Asiatic Society, to Émile Senart to state that the Committee assented to the protocol sent and will recommend its acceptance by the Royal Asiatic Society. Handwritten, dated 19 July 1917.
• "Notes of the Quarter (October - December 1917)" from the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society which includes "An Agreement Concluded between the Royal Asiatic Society and the Société Asiatique of Paris." Printed material.
