This collection comprehends 43 manuscripts and two printed works in Theology (1), Grammar(1), Rhetoric (3), Dictionaries (5), History (16), Geography (1), Natural History (1), Arithmetic (1), and Poetry (16).

In 1829 the city had been captured by the Russian Empire, but was returned to the Ottoman Empire under the Treaty of Adrianople (Edirne), in September of the same year. Thirty-four of the manuscripts and the two printed works were purchased by Field Marshal Count Ivan Fyodorovich Paskevich-Erevansky in Erzurum to which were added nine manuscripts from the Library of Bajazeh; all of these were thought worthy of being deposited in the Imperial Library.
