              • Estimate from Barnard & Crannis, Ltd. to the Royal Asiatic Society for 1000 letters, dated 2 April 1931.
              • Estimate from Gale & Polden Ltd. for 1000 letters, dated 10 April 1931.
              • Letter from the Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Bernard and Crannis Ltd. to ask whether their estimate includes the cost of a heading, dated 4 May 1931.

              Correspondence concerned with missing and faulty offprints. These are:

              • A letter from the Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Stephen Austin and Son Ltd. concerned that Dr Emmerick had only received 25 offprints of his article. The Secretary was also concerned that Mr. Hansman's offprints had been delayed in their posting despite the stressed urgency. Dated 5 December 1969.
              • Letter from John Hansman to Miles Bullivant, Sales Director, Stephen Austin & Sons Ltd., concerning the quality of the binding of his offprints and finger markings on pages preceding his plates, alongside the delay in the provision of the offprints which caused him to lose some funding for an excavation. Dated 3 December 1970.
              • Letter from Miles Bullivant, Sales Director, Stephen Austin & Sons Ltd. to John Hansman to reply to his letter defending the company's production of the offprints and suggesting ameliorative measures, dated 9 January 1970.
              • Letter from Miles Bullivant, Sales Director, Stephen Austin & Sons Ltd. to Miss Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning the letter the company had received from John Hansman and suggesting the Society might be called upon to arbitrate, dated 9 January 1970.
              • Draft letter from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Miles Bullivant, Sales Director, Stephen Austin & Sons Ltd. concerning the offprints. She points out not only were they defective but also significantly delayed. She suggests an apology would be in order to Hansman and also points out the delay in receiving other offprints requested by the Society. Dated 19 January 1970.
              • Letter from Miles Bullivant, Sales Director, Stephen Austin & Sons Ltd. to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, in which he states he has received a further letter from John Hansman but doesn't know how to proceed other than a further apology. There may be a chance of a reprint if the type is still available. Dated 22 January 1970.
              • Letter from Miles Bullivant, Sales Director, Stephen Austin & Sons Ltd. to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to enclose a letter to John Hansman and to inform of the action they are undertaking. He also apologise for not attending to Miss Crawford's other queries and assures her that the delayed copies will be sent that day. Dated 28 January 1970. The letter is enclosed in which he states that they will be able to reprint his offprints after they have printed the current edition of the Journal. Also dated 28 January 1970.
              • Letter from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Miles Bullivant, Sales Director, Stephen Austin & Sons Ltd. to thank for his letter and inform that she has received the delayed offprints, dated 30 January 1970.

              Letter from C. Templey, Account Executive, Stephen Austin and Sons Limited, to Dr Bivar, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning the binding and production of the special edition of the journal in honour of Mortimer Wilson. The company is now ready to do the final proofs and wish to know about the binding and lettering required for the two specially bound copies. He also acknowledges receipt of the Society's Annual Report. There is an annotation, in Bivar's hand, to ask Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to file the letter and ensure the proofs are received in the next ten days. The note is dated 22 March 1972.

              Correspondence concerning an alleged debt for offprints of an article by B.G. Martin and Dr Freeman-Grenville. These are:

              • Letter from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Dr. Freeman-Grenville to enquire whether he had requested 25 additional offprints. If he hadn't the Society would pay the outstanding debt to the printers. Dated 8 June 1977.
              • Letter from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Dr. B.G. Martin, similarly asking whether he had requested additional offprints. Dated 8 June 1977.
              • Letters from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Dr. B.G. Martin, and Dr. Freeman-Grenville to inform that she had paid the debt to Stephen Austin as she had failed to receive a reply from either of them. Both dated 26 July 1977.
              • Letter from Dr. B.G. Martin to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society to inform that he felt the debt was a clerical error of the Society's but he is sending a placatory cheque, dated 4 August 1977.

              In 1938, l'Institut d'Histoire de l'Émigration Politique Contemporaine celebrated the 750th anniversary of the death of the Georgian poet, Chota Roustaveli. This correspondence and printed material are in connection with that celebration. They are:

              • Letter from The President, Institut d'Histoire de l'Emigration Politique Contemporaine, to the Royal Asiatic Society to inform them of the celebration, of the Organising Committee, and of associated names and activities. He asks if the Society will consent to send a representative. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 29 January 1938.
              • "Institut d'Histoire de l'Émigration Politique Contemporaine" - printed pamphlet concerning the Committees of the Society and its activities.
              • Letter from Royal Asiatic Society to l'Institut d'Histoire de l'Émigration Politique Contemporaine to state that Sir Oliver Wardrop would be the Society's representative upon the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the death of the Georgian Poet, Chola Roustaveli. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 18 February 1938.
              • Postcard from Sir Oliver Wardrop to the Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that the ceremony has been postponed until 30 March 1938. Handwritten, dated 20 February 1938.

              Correspondence concerned with the appointment of a member of Council to the British School of Archaeology in Iraq from the Royal Asiatic Society. These are:

              • Letter from E.H. Keeling, Honorary Secretary, British School of Archaeology in Iraq, to the Royal Asiatic Society to state that under the regulations of the School the Royal Asiatic Society had appointed Professor Margoliouth as a Member of the Council for three years ending in June 1935. He asks for the Society to appoint a member for the forthcoming three years. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 15 May 1933.
              • Letter from E.H. Keeling, Honorary Secretary, British School of Archaeology in Iraq, to the Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to ask him to substitute the name of Professor Langdon for that of Margoliouth in the previous letter. Handwritten with printed letterhead, dated 15 May 1935.
              • Letter from Col. Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to the Honorary Secretary, British School of Archaeology in Iraq, to inform him that Professor S.H. Langdon had been nominated as the representative member of Council for the period commencing 1 July 1935. Typed, dated 17 June 1935.

              • "Suggestions for a School of Applied Anthropology" by Sir Richard C. Temple. Report from "Man, No.102, 1913" of a discussion on the practical application of anthropological teaching in universities held in "Section H of the British Association, at Birmingham, Friday September 12th, 1913". There are also reports on statements by others including Mr T.C. Hodson, Secretary of the Royal Anthropological Institute. Printed material.
              • Letter of invitation to the President, Royal Asiatic Society to be present at the conference convened by the "Joint Committee of the British Association for the Advancement of Science and the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland" to be held on 19 February 1914. With the letter is also a "Memorandum of Proceedings". Printed material with handwritten inserts, letter dated 15 January 1914.
              • Letter from W.B. Fagg, Hon. Secretary, Joint Committee, Royal Anthropological Institute, to the Royal Asiatic Society to inform them that their quinquennial revision of membership is overdue and to ask them to appoint a representative to serve on the committee from 1943 to 1947. They inform that the previous representative was R.E. Enthoven. Typed, dated 14 July 1943.

              Material concerned with the British Institute (of Archaeology) at Ankara and its interaction with the Royal Asiatic Society. These are:

              • Note from the December Council Meeting 1986 concerning representatives from the Royal Asiatic Society on the Board of the British School of Archaeology at Ankara. The first representative was Sir Gerard Clauson, followed by Susan Skilliter. On her death Godfrey Goodwin has offered to serve in that capacity. Handwritten, undated. With the note is a copy of a letter from Godfrey Goodwin to inform that he is willing to serve. Handwritten, dated 19 July 1986.
              • Letter from Dr Stephen Hill, Honorary Secretary, British Institute of Archaeology at Ankara, to Lydia Collins, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform her that at the meeting of the Institute's Council of Management, proposals for management restructuring were provisionally agreed. He informs that this change will be brought before members at the next Annual General meeting. Typed, undated. On this letter is a handwritten note concerning the change in Charity legislation and how this may affect the Society's representation on the Governing Body of SOAS. Dated 9 May 1994. With the letter are 4 pages on the restructuring of the Council of Management.
              • Note from Dennis Duncanson to Dr MacDowall that he disagrees that the legislative change will affect the Society's involvement with SOAS. Handwritten, dated 10 May 1994.
              • Letter from Peter Lawrence, British Institute of Archaeology at Ankara, to Mr MacDowall to thank for his letter explaining how the Society is restructuring its Council and how members may be able to receive Society funds. He writes concerning discussions between the Institute and the Charity Commission. Handwritten with printed letterhead, dated 30 November 1994.
