In 1889 a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Royal Asiatic Society and W.H. Allen and Company concerning the publishing of the Journal. This series contains that Memorandum and associated correspondence.

'The Intercourse of China with Eastern Turkestan and the Adjacent Countries in the Second Century B.C.' by Thomas William Kingsmill, published in the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society New Series, Vol. 14, No. 2 (Apr., 1882), pp. 74-104. The manuscript is written in a large soft-covered notebook and dated Shanghai, January 16 1878.

Subscriptions Volumes - bound volumes containing the names of subscribers with dates of payment and when they were issued with the Journal. Includes individuals, exchanges and book sellers. 12 volumes all handwritten, covering the periods of 1925-1927, 1928-1930, 1931-1933, 1937-1939, 1940-1942, 1943-1945, 1946-1948, 1952-1954, 1955-1957, 1958-1960, 1961-1963, 1965-1966.

This series contains lists of subscribers, both individuals and organisations, and some associated administrative material.

Subscription Lists. Typed or computer generated, dated 1967-1970, 1971-1974, 1975-1978, 1979-1982 (institutions only), [1990], 1991 (4 sets), 1992, 1993 (2 sets), 1994 (+ list of institutions), 1995 (4 sets), 1997 (2 sets), 1998 (2 sets).

The printing of the Journal went to Stephen Austin and Sons, Ltd. in the late 1800s. This series contains some later correspondence between the printers and the Society.
