Letter from Archibald Campbell to Brian Houghton Hodgson to return the "Englishman" and other critiques on Ellenborough's administration which compare favourably against Lord Ellenborough's own accounts. Campbell expresses his own opinion concerning Ellenborough's administration including the removal of Hodgson from office. He writes that he is not a member of the Zoological Society and that young Brian is in luck for his holidays and that Hodgson must not spoil him. Also a Copy of a letter from Csoma de Koros giving Power of Attorney to the Government Agent at Calcutta and requesting that if he met with his death on his tour to Thibet that his deposited papers be placed at the Asiatic Society of Calcutta. This is a series of documents of correspondence and testimonials reflecting the activities of Brian Houghton Hodgson in the period 1836-1848. Hodgson and his wives were keen collectors of letters and statements that reflected well upon the work in which he was involved.

Letter from Captain H. Harkness, Secretary of the Royal Asiatic Society, to Brian Houghton Hodgson concerning his donation of the Sata Sahasrika Prajna Paramita and his promise of the Nava Dharma and other books of the Sangatas which are found in Hodgson's sketch of Buddhism. He expresses praise, on behalf of the Council, for Hodgson's work and how they agree that Sanskrit was the language in which the Buddha sages first committed their doctrines. Though they expect that Hodgson must have extended considerable money on his researches, and though they would wish to support him, funds will not enable them to do so. Letter from Alexander Johnston, Vice-president of Royal Asiatic Society, to Brian Houghton Hodgson to thank him for his letter which he has shared with Sir James Camac, East India Company Chairman, and Colonel Sykes. They are in agreement about the importance of Hodgson's intended publication on Nepal zoology. Johnston expresses the admiration of his friends in this country for the work that Hodgson is undertaking. He will publish Hodgson's letter in the next issue of the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society. Handwritten, 4 sides, dated 6 July 1836.

Letter from James Prinsep, Secretary of the Asiatic Society of Bengal, to Sir Alexander Johnston, Vice-President of the Royal Asiatic Society, to accompany the sending of the package to the RAS by Brian Houghton Hodgson re his publication about Nepal Zoology and suggesting that they pursue Sir William Jardine's option for publication.
