Letter from William Pettigrew to Mrs M. Davis, RAS Assistant Secretary, enclosing his report on the monograph and a letter to Gimson. In his report he raises some objections regarding the content and concluded that the chapter on Grammar is more or less an adaptation of his own published work. In the letter to Gimson he writes of his disappointment over the Society's decision to not publish the work, and hopes that publication can be arranged by the Asiatic Society of Bengal. Two letters from Mrs Ethel Pettigrew to the Society regarding the donation of Pettigrew papers to the Society:

• Letter to the RAS Secretary to inform of William Pettigrew's death and his wish for the Society to have his papers, and to give a list of material in question, including that on archaic Manipur, dictionaries, grammars and books, dated 1 May 1943
• Letter to Richard Winstedt, RAS President, enclosing a revised list of the material to donate to the Society, with a postscript saying that the material has been sent to the Society in two parcels, dated 26 May 1943

Typed manuscript titled 'A Study made of 133 words in 29 different dialects to compare to the Archaic and Modern Manipuri', with handwritten annotations on the front page: 'by Rev W Pettigrew late of Manipur State Assam India' and 'Preparatory to a paper proposed to write on the Archaic Manipuri language'. The manuscript has been formatted into a table which has the modern Manipuri dialect on the left and the archaic dialect on the right.

In Mrs Pettigrew's letter dated 26 May 1943, the typescript is described as 'evidently based on the Comparative Vocabulary of Grierson's Linguistic Survey' and was prepared for a paper for some journals.

Typed manuscript of Yumjao Singh's monograph on archaic Manipuri, mixed with Pettigrew's typed notes from WP/1/1. The monograph was put forward for publication by the Society but publication was not eventually undertaken.
