Several lists of members prepared for Annual General Meeting reports, including: Fellows elected in 2001; Fellows deceased in 2001 and 2002; Fellows resigned in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003; and Fellows whose names were struck off in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Completed and signed forms by members giving their personal details (name, address, e-mail and address) and interests, to be included in the next List of Fellows published by the Society. Includes some Form A signed by the members.

Historically, anyone who was desirous of becoming a member of the Society must secure a proposal by current member(s) when submitting an application. This series contains the papers submitted by individuals for applying membership and lists of applicants prepared for the Council meetings, where applications are reviewed and new members are elected.

These certificates of recommendation are application forms submitted by candidates who were desirous of becoming a member of the Society, giving their personal details (name, occupation and address) and the names and addresses of the proposer and seconder. Printed on the reverse of the form is notes and rules relating to membership and subscriptions.

Sometimes a candidate’s form was filed with correspondence notifying their successful election and their 'Form A', signed by the member after their election to confirm that they agree to observe and comply with the membership rules, and that they will promote the interests and welfare of the Society.

Typed lists of membership applications to be tabled at Council meetings, where new members are elected. The lists would usually include the names of the candidate, the proposer and the seconder, and sometimes further biographical information of the candidates. Lists for some years don't seem to be complete.

Letter concerning Lord Bathurst and [Robert] Wilmot enrolling as members of the Asiatic Society. However, the majority of the content relates to slave trade in Java and the efforts to suppress it by Godert Alexander Gerard Philip, Baon van der Capellen, and a Reverend Philip Wedding. The letter is undated and unsigned, but both Lord Bathurst (1762-1834) and Robert John Wilmot (1784-1841) joined the Society in 1823 so the letter could be dated to the same year. With accompanying typed note describing the content.
