For the 30th Congress the title was changed to the International Congress of Human Sciences in Asia and North Africa. The Congress was held in Mexico City in August 1976. Material concerned with this Congress is:

• Letter from Michael Faraday, Royal Institution, to Sir Alexander Johnstone, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning the constitution of a bowl from Java which was made from an alloy of copper and tin. Handwritten, 1piece, dated 11 April 1827. With the letter is a sheet of information about the bowl in which it states it was in the possession of John Crawfurd, handwritten, 1 piece.
• Letter from Joseph L. Williams to the Royal Asiatic Society to ask for permission to inspect the art collection of the Society with the view to them being copied for publication in 'The Comprehensive History of India'. Handwritten, 1 piece, dated 6 September 1838.
• Letter from the East India House to accede to the request for Henry Rawlinson to remove to the Society a slab to create a facsimile of its inscription. Handwritten, 1 piece, dated 29 April 1858.
• Letter from General Jacob to James Redhouse, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to send a letter from Mr Friederich concerning the Bali Purana. Unfortunately the letter is no longer enclosed. Handwritten, 4 sides, dated 27 February 1863.
• Letter from J.W. Freeland to the Royal Asiatic Society to provide the translation of a Chinese Inscription found on a stone presented to the Society by Sir Henry Parkes. Handwritten, 4 sides, dated 3 August 1863.
• Letter from John Scarth to the Royal Asiatic Society to give his and Dr Hobson's views on a manuscript, perhaps by Charles Gutzlaff, concerning Chinese philosophy. There is some doubt as to the authorship of the manuscript. Handwritten, 7 sides, dated 8 October. With the letter is the one from Hobson to Scarth expressing his views. • Letter from N. de Khonikof to the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the Tarikh namah. Handwritten in French, 1 side, dated 26 July 1868.

• Information concerning RAS Persian Manuscript 258 Gulistan of Sa'di. Handwritten and typed, 3 pieces, undated.
• 'Memo' - index of contents of an unknown [Thai] manuscript or book about Buddhism and the Siam court. Handwritten, 1 piece, undated.
• '[Kalunelle Wieharre]' - a list of manuscripts or index for a manuscript concerning Buddhism including some of the jatakas. Handwritten, 1 piece, undated.
• 'No' - an index for a manuscript found within Raffles Malay Manuscript 3 but not pertaining to it but to a manuscript written by different hands in the Marwari dialect and chiefly of Jain poems, possibly relating to Tod Ms.106. Handwritten, 4 sides, undated.
• 'An attempt to identify the Indian artist who painted a picture of Jahangir's Court' - an article by Henry Beveridge identifying the artist and the people portrayed in a watercolour painting of Jahangir and his courtiers donated to the Royal Asiatic Society by Major Charles Stewart, 5 July 1834, having been brought to England by Colonel Champion in 1775 and cleaned and regilded by Vaux in November 1880. Handwritten, 23 pages, dated 20 June 1915. The picture is no longer in the collections. Though written about in Foster's article The Pictures, etc., of the Royal Asiatic Society, (J.R.A.S. 1924) it was recorded as missing by the 1970 in the Society's guard books.
• Translation of the full-size copy of the Inscription to the Taula of Hafiz in Shiraz - handwritten, 2 pieces, [1929].

This fonds contains the personal papers of William Pettigrew, including research notes connected with the Manipuri language and other local dialects, examination papers, as well as correspondence primarily relating to a monograph on archaic Manipuri on which he collaborated with Yumjao Singh.

A green pattern cover book handwritten and titled 'Langlol and Notes on same' and a handwritten poem copied from King Lear, Act 2 Scene 4, William Shakespeare.

Black cloth-bound volume recording names of individuals visiting the Library from September 1970 to June 1980. These are classified into visits by Fellows and visitors. For visitors, their addresses or affiliation are also given. Some entries are signed by the individuals.

This is a bound leather volume entitled "Names of Visitors to the Museum of the Royal Asiatic Society, Great Britain and Ireland, 1832". The volume is a registration book for visitors to the Museum covering the period January 1832-January 1840 on pp.1-123, and February 1848-June 1849 on pp. 125-126. It should be noted that on the outside of the Ledger is a label which reads "Committee of Agriculture and Commerce" and on pp.151-157 is an article, "Cost of Carrying Cotton" extracted from "The Friends of India..." dated 23 July 1861. On pp. 158-159 is an extract from the Council Meeting of the Royal Asiatic Society, 16 January 1871. The other pages are hand-numbered but are blank. Leather bound volume with ruled pages, handwritten. The binding is in a fragile condition and the leather has some red rot.
