Letter from L. C. Hopkins to Richard Winstedt, following his earlier letter of resignation [from the Council], stating that he would like to stay in touch with the Council proceedings and asking that a copy of the minutes of proceedings be sent to him in future, dated 17 October 1943. L. C. Hopkins was elected a member of the Council in May 1942.
Two letters regarding the death of Sir Aurel Stein. First one from F. G. Kenyon, former President of the British Academy, replying to Richard Winstedt to state that the Academy has no intention of organising a memorial to Sir Aurel Stein, and that the Academy will become the trustees of a fund for archaeology under his will, dated 15 February 1944. The other from Sir E. D. Maclagan to Richard Winstedt, proposing options to commemorate the passing of Sir Aurel Stein, dated 8 March 1944.

Letter from Sir Harold Bailey expressing his gratitude for being made an honorary member, with copy outgoing letter stating that his annual subscription would be waived, dated 15 December 1966–30 January 1967. According to the printed lists, however, Sir Harold Bailey did not appear to have been elected as an Honorary Member. He had served on the Council but remained an Ordinary Fellow of the Society.
