Redhouse, Secretary, to the Secretaries of State for India, Foreign Affairs, the Colonies, and Board of Trade, to inform that the Royal Asiatic Society has resolved to devote a special section of its journal to investigation of question relating to statistics, agriculture, commerce and industry of the countries of Asia. As a member, and as a rich nobleman, the Duke is asked if he would be prepared to serve though having previously refused this position. The Vice-Presidents will assist with 'the labours of office'.
