• Letter from Charles R. Lanman, American Oriental Society, concerning the forthcoming Joint Meeting. Dated 16 July 1919.
• Notice from Eleanor Hull, Secretary of Royal Asiatic Society, to inform of the Joint Session and to ask for offers of hospitality from members and friends resident in the London area. Dated 24 July 1919.
• Letter from Eleanor Hull, Secretary of Royal Asiatic Society, to send details regarding the Dinner to entertain Members of the allied institutions. With the letter is a form for a Hospitality Fund for voluntary subscriptions towards the cost of the Dinner and Session. Dated 30 July 1919.
• Notice from Eleanor Hull, Secretary of Royal Asiatic Society, to provide a Programme of Meetings. With this is a form for Application for Tickets for the Dinner to be held at the Imperial Restaurant. Undated.
• Programme for the Joint Session of the Royal Asiatic Society, the Société Asiatique, American Oriental Society and the Scuola Orientale-R. Università di Roma. This also includes a list of some of the participating Members from the Societies. Undated.
• Admittance Ticket from Eleanor Hull, Secretary of Royal Asiatic Society, for the events at the Oriental Rooms, British Museum, the School of Oriental Studies, and Kew Gardens on 4-6 September. The name F.W. Thomas has been added to the card.
• Ticket to the Banquet at the Imperial Restaurant, Regent Street, on 6 September 1919.

Printed material to advertise the Royal Asiatic Society and list the Events for its Sesquicentenary Celebrations.

The printed material consists of James Thomason's settlement report on the district of Azamgarh, from 1837 and a copy of a Hindi lithographed newspaper, the 'Shimla Akhbar', of 15th April 1848.

Three books of printed material in Arabic and Persian language, possibly official reports. There is also one page from the book 'Alfiya', Rhymed book of Arabic Grammar , and 16 loose pages from a book relating to Islamic teachings.

Five articles written by and about Emily Overend Lorimer and David Lockhart Lorimer; four regarding their expedition to Gilgit; the fifth concerning Hitler's philosophy.

• Newspaper cutting from The Morning Post of a letter from Patrick Colquhoun, G.W. Leitner and H.W. Bellew announcing their declaration that the proposed International Congress of Orientalists in 1892 is not in accordance with the International Assembly of Orientalists' regulations. Dated 21 April [1891].
• Letter from Robert K. Douglas, J.F. Hewitt, E.W. Bullinger and A.A. Macdonell, Honorary Secretaries, to forward a copy of the circular for the 9th International Congress of Orientalists. Dated February 1891.
• List of the Officers for the Ninth International Congress of Orientalists, also inviting other Orientalists to join. Two copies, dated 12 May 1891.

Material giving information regarding the printed material within our collections. These are:

• 'Gravures des conquêtes de l'Empereur de Chine K'ien-Long au Musée Gimet' - a printed pamphlet containing notes on the engravings of China's conquest of Turkestan, 1757. This pamphlet was produced by the Musée Gimet in 1969. With the pamphlet are photocopies of an article by Paul Pelliot from T'oung Pao, Vol XX, 1921 also describing the engravings; photocopies of portions of the book 'Guiseppe Castiglione: A Jesuit Painter at the Court of the Chinese Emperors' by Cecile and Michel Beurdeley, translated by Michael Bullock, published by Lund Humphries, 1971 again describing the engravings; a copy of Chapter 6 from the 'Peintres Jésuites en Chine au XVIII Siècle' by Michel Beurdeley; the article 'The introduction of copper-engraving into China' by Hartmut Walverens copied from the 62nd IFLA General Conference Proceedings, 1996; a copy of 'East Asian arts: Painting and pictorial arts' downloaded from Britannica, 2002; and further handwritten and typed notes on the material.
• Photocopy of the section from 'A Directory of Rare Books and Special Collections in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland' edited by Moelwyn J Williams (Library Association, 1985) containing information about the Society's collections.
• 'The Storey Collection' - a document by Francois de Blois concerning the types of books bequeathed by Professor C.A. Storey, typed, 2 pieces, dated January 1995.
• 'Sorting Chinese and Japanese Materials at the RAS Library' by Iside Carbone - an article about the Chinese and Japanese books in the collections. Typed, 12 pieces, dated 21 May 2003.
• Siolta 2023, the annual publication of the Irish Society of Botanical Artists with illustrations provided by the Society from its collection of the Transactions of the Korea Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society 28, 1929, to accompany the article 'Clare Emma Whitty (1883-1950) and the flora of central Korea' by Charles Nelson.

Printed Material concerned with the Presentation of the Award to Wilfred Thesiger and his work.

There is a single item in this sub-series - a newspaper cutting from The Times to report that the Burton Memorial Medal had been presented to Brigadier S.H. Longrigg for services in Oriental research.
