Correspondence between the Royal Asiatic Society and Fine Books Oriental concerning a catalogue for the offprints of the Society's Journal. The file contains both agreements and correspondence between the two parties as well as internal communication within the Royal Asiatic Society and administrative documents concerning preparation for a launch party for the catalogue. The correspondents include Valery Gibson and Gordon Calver for the Royal Asiatic Society and J.I. Somers for Fine Books Oriental. During this period Fine Books Oriental came under the Luzac's umbrella but continued to act independently.

Correspondents include Valery Gibson, Gordon Claver and Dennis Duncanson for the Royal Asiatic Society and Gerhard Schmidt for Schmidt Periodicals.

• Letters between the RAS and T. L. Wilson & Co. regarding a draft agreement with Johnson Reprinting Co. [not with the letters]. Three letters, dated 21 December 1964-14 January 1965.

• Letter from T. L. Wilson & Co. regarding a draft agreement with Messrs. Kraus Reprint Limited [not with the letter], dated 31 October 1966.

• Letters from RAS Secretary to Messrs. Wilson Freeman concerning the termination of the agreements with Luzac & Company Ltd. and Johnson Reprint Corporation, New York. There is a photocopy of an agreement signed between the Society and Johnson Reprint Corporation for reprinting early issues and volumes of the Journal, dated November 1959. Two letters, dated 27 February-31 October 1975, and three photocopies.

The Richard Burton correspondence consists of a series of letters to Alexander George Ellis at the British Museum mainly concerning bibliographical enquiries. Each of these letters has been transcribed by Mary S Lovell

There are three letters from Isabel Burton: two are to Mr Cotton regarding publications and the third is a printed letter to ask for a review notice of her Richard Burton biography.

These are pamphlets and offprints covering many different areas of his interest. Some are rare editions whilst others are typed reprints of material held elsewhere.

These are a mixed series of material about Richard and Isabel Burton, most of which were with the Burton Collection on acquisition. Some are associated by their use of the material for further research
