The material in this sub-series consists of the engraving plate and examples of the book plate produced for the Public School medal.

Metal engraving plate for the book plate to go in each prize book. Has a banyan tree design and wording "Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland School Prize Founded by the Generosity of HH the Raja of Cochin K.C.S.I., the Maharaja Gajapati Rao C.I.E., the Raja of Parlakimedi and other Chiefs and Gentlemen of Southern India. With the plate is its paper cover which bears a print of the plate.

Two examples of the Public School Medal, 3.5cm in diameter, one [bronze] in a black presentation box with blue velvet and white lining. The manufacturer, John Pinches Medallist, London, S.W., is printed on the inside of the lid. The other is loose and possibly of lead.

On printed headed paper of School of Oriental Studies, University of London, with handwritten sender's address at Dover House, Chertsey, Surrey, dated 4 March 1929.

This material concerns the conferment of the Medal each year. However there is limited archival material and only for some of the years in which the medal was awarded. Therefore sub-series and files were created only for those years for which material is present.

There are three items in this sub-series - an invitation card to the Presentation of the Medal; a newspaper cutting from the Bombay Gazette for 30 May 1904 entitled "The Royal Asiatic Society and its Medal"; and a copy "The Indian Magazine" for June 1904 with a report of the Public School Medal.

Ewer (Merchant Taylors' School); the presentation would be by the Right Honorable St. John Brodrick, M.P., Secretary of State for India. Printed material.
