Two items - a draft invitation card for the lecture by Doreen Ingrams and biographical material on Beatrice de Cardi.

Five administrative documents concerned with the inauguration of the Burton Memorial Fund.

Three notes in the Secretary of the Royal Asiatic Society, Colonel Hoysted's hand. These are:

• Note on 1934 selection committee appointed by the Council.
• Note on Council Meeting of 12 April 1934 when no suggestions were given for a suitable recipient to be awarded the medal.
• Note to state that at the meeting of 14 June 1934 the name of Miss Freya Stark was recommended by the Committee.

There is a single file in this sub-series - a document entitled "Royal Asiatic Society: The Burton Memorial Medal and Lecture" which gives details of the Burton Memorial Trust and its former recipients.

There is a single administrative document in this sub-series. This is a copy of the Minutes of the Council for 12 December 1939 when it was noted that they resolved to invite Professor Margoliouth to suggest the names of the members of the Committee for selection of the Burton Medal recipient. This has been annotated with alternative suggestions.
