With the letter is a list of potential recipients and some biographical material on Winifred Susan Blackman including a letter from her brother, Aylward M. Blackman recommending that she should be put forward for the Burton Memorial Award.

On the reverse is a note in Hoysted's hand to state that the lecture was postponed to 18th June as the first Thursday that Thomas was free and that the medal had been ordered.
