The Papers of Charles Ambrose Storey are mainly concerned with gathering material for his research into Persian Literature. They include his own notes and draft publications and additional notes by people who subsequently worked with his research.

• 'Identifications of Copies of Paintings in the Ajanta Caves Completed by Robert Gill in the Period 1845-1863' by Colmán McLaughlin. The manuscript is dated as 'Final Draft 1/21/2010'. Computer printed, 36 pieces.
• Copies of emails between Colmán McLaughlin and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning obtaining documents for this research. He also includes a transcript of a submission by the Royal Asiatic Society to the East India Company Honourable Court of Directors concerning the appointment of Robert Gill as artist and photographer at the Ajanta Caves and subsequent correspondence, computer printed, 11 pieces, dated 19 July 2004 - 10 July 2009.

Parts 2,3,4 and 5 of the 'Etymological Vocabulary of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Ainu' by Johannes Rahder of Yale University. The second and third parts were privately printed in 1959, the fourth in 1960 and the fifth in 1962, all in New Haven Connecticut, USA. These are typed manuscripts.

• Part 2 runs from page 75-157 with ten pages of Abbreviations and a title page. On this first page of the text is the handwritten note 'pages 1-74 form the first part of J. Rahder's Etymological Vocabulary of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Ainu (first edition printed in Tokyo 1956 as Monograph 16 of Monumenta Nipponica, Sophia Univ; 2nd revised and enlarged edition New Haven 1960).' • Part 3 has a title page and 66 pages of content. Foolscap sheets.
• Part 4 has a title page, three preface pages and 38 pages of content. Foolscap sheets.

The 'Index of Languages' taken from the 'Historical Catalogue of the Printed Editions of Holy Scripture in the Library of the British and Foreign Bible Society' by Horace Frederick Moule and Thomas Herbert Darlow, London, 1903-1911. This is a handwritten copy made into a table over 72 sheets with the headings Language, Where Spoken, Family of Languages, Characters used by Bible Society for printing, and Remarks. With the index is a typed covering page which indicates that this is not a complete list but comprises only of those languages and dialects into which the Bible had been translated. At the top of the page the date 1936 has been crossed out and replaced with 1937.

This archive consists of correspondence, documentation, reports and allied material concerned with the loans of the Collections of the Society to other institutions predominantly for exhibition but sometimes for more long-term care. The Society has not kept comprehensive records throughout its history. Further information pertaining to the Loans from the Society can be found in the Minutes for the meetings of the Council and Library Committees. Loans continue in the life of the Society. More recent ones are held in the Society's records management system and will be transferred to the archive in due course.

Minutes for the General Meetings held by the Society for its Members to attend. At these meetings, new members would be admitted, donations presented, and Papers or letters read on Asiatic topics. The Minutes have been accumulated into bound volumes covering the time span from 1823-2011.

The International Congress of Libraries and Documentation Centres was held in Brussels from the 11-18 September 1955. It included the Third International Congress of Libraries, the Fourth Congress of Music Libraries, and the Twenty-Second International Conference of Documentation. This material consists of the printed pamphlet entitled "Notice No. 1, September 1954", giving details of the Organizing Committees, the History and Aims of the Congress, the Programmes for the Congress etc. The material is printed in English and French.

Correspondence concerned with the first Congress of the Federation of Learned Societies of North Africa, held at Algiers University from 10-11 June 1935. These are:

• Letter from Société Historique Algérienne to the President of the Royal Asiatic Society to inform of the first Congress of the Federation of Learned Societies of North Africa and to invite the Royal Asiatic Society to send a representative. The letter informs of the subjects to be discussed. Typed in French, dated 6 February 1935.
• Letter from Col. Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to The Secretary, Société Historique Algérienne, to apologise for the delay in replying to their letter but he was still waiting to hear of a suitable representative. Typed, dated 13 March 1935.
• Letter from Professor Henri Pérès to the Royal Asiatic Society to write that is would be an honour to represent the Royal Asiatic Society at the Congress. Handwritten in French, date 15 April 1935.
• Letter from D.S. Margoliouth, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Col. Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to enclose the letter from Professor Pérès accepting the invitation to represent the Society at the Congress. Handwritten, dated 22 April 1935.
• Letter from Col. Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Professor Pérès to send the official form from the Society for the Congress. Typed, dated 7 May 1935.
• Letter from Col. Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to the Secretary General, Société Historique Algérienne, concerning the Royal Asiatic Society's representation at the Congress, and to inform that Professor Henri Pérès would represent the Society. Typed, dated 10 May 1935.

The Fifth International Congress of Linguists took place in Brussels from 28 August to 2 September 1939. This material contains correspondence and printed material connected to this Congress. These are:

• First Circular for the Fifth International Congress of Linguists giving details of the Conference and the topics to be addressed. Written in French, dated 20 October 1938.
• Postcard from H.W. Bailey to Col. Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform him that Bailey was intending to attend the Congress. Handwritten, dated 12 January 1939.
• Letter from Col. Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to the Secretary, International Congress of Linguists, to inform him that Professor H.W. Bailey will represent the Society at the Congress. Typed, dated 26 January 1939.
