Letter from Co. Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Sir Jadunath Sarkar to ask, on behalf of the Council, whether he would represent the Society at the Tenth All-India Oriental Conference. Dated 16 March 1939.

Letter from Sir Jadunath Sarkar to Col. Hoysted to state that he will be unable to be a delegate as he has chosen to no longer attend conferences. He also writes concerning a review that he will send to the Society. Dated 14 April 1935.

Correspondence with Sir Louis Mallet (1823-1890) who was a British civil servant, an advocate of free trade and served on the Council of India. A set of 11 letters between Hodgson and Mallet concerning trade in India, dating to 1873.

Correspondence with Sir Mountstuart Elphinstone Grant Duff. A set of letters between Hodgson and Grant Duff concerning trade routes through Nepal and Tibet, dating to 1873.

Correspondence with Sir Rutherford Alcock, KCB (1809 - 1897) who was the first British diplomatic representative to live in Japan. This is a set of five letters between Hodgson and Alcock, dating to 1873.

Correspondence with Sir Thomas Douglas Forsyth. Three items of correspondence between Hodgson and Forsyth regarding Central Asia. Dating from April - June 1877.

Correspondence with the solicitors concerning reprinting agreements, including:

• Letters between the RAS and T. L. Wilson & Co. regarding a draft agreement with Johnson Reprinting Co. [not with the letters]. Three letters, dated 21 December 1964-14 January 1965.

• Letter from T. L. Wilson & Co. regarding a draft agreement with Messrs. Kraus Reprint Limited [not with the letter], dated 31 October 1966.

• Letters from RAS Secretary to Messrs. Wilson Freeman concerning the termination of the agreements with Luzac & Company Ltd. and Johnson Reprint Corporation, New York. There is a photocopy of an agreement signed between the Society and Johnson Reprint Corporation for reprinting early issues and volumes of the Journal, dated November 1959. Two letters, dated 27 February-31 October 1975, and three photocopies.

• Letter from Professor Francis Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Lieutenant Commander Lavery, St. James's Palace, to request the presence of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales at the reception to mark the Royal Asiatic Society's 175th Anniversary, dated 25 November 1997.
• Letter from Lieutenant Commander Lavery, St. James's Palace, to Professor Francis Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform him that the Prince of Wales will be unable to attend the reception, dated 26 November 1997.

Stanislas Aignan Julien (13 April 1797 – 14 February 1873) was a French sinologist who served as the Chair of Chinese at the Collège de France for over 40 years and was one of the most academically respected sinologists in French history. This correspondence is mainly concerned with Thomas Manning trying to source Chinese books for Julien.
