Sans titre"Asiatic Journal for March 1820 in which there is an article, "College of Fort William, Public Disputation", which reports on the disputations in Oriental languages by members of the College. Hodgson took part as the 1st Opponent in Persian and in Bengalee. The disputation was then followed by giving of prizes and certificates for the qualifications awarded by the College.
