The International Congress of Orientalists, initiated in Paris in 1873, was an international conference of Orientalists. It was later renamed as the International Congress of Human Sciences in Asia and North Africa and then as the International Congress of Asian and North African Studies. This material covers the interaction of the Royal Asiatic Society with the Congress in the time period 1889 to 1993.

Letter from Professor Georg Morgenstierne, President of International Union of Orientalists, to President, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform that the next General Assembly of the Union would be held at the International Congress of Orientalists in New Delhi on 6 January 1964, and to ask for the Society to nominate a representative. A handwritten copy of the reply has been added to this letter stating that the Society has nominated Dr Allchin, who has succeeded Dr Sinor.
