Derrett comments on what he has learnt from the Fergusson and Burgess book concerning sculptures found in the village of Jamālgarhi including three distinctly Christian scenes. The sculptures had been on display in London in 1880 but have since disappeared. He also comments upon his theory of Christ being recognised as a Bodhisattva, and in a postscript mentions how Turner, Director of SOAS, had doubts about Derrett's 'powers'.

He therefore asks Pollock to look for The Gandhara Sculptures by J. Burgess in the Journal of Indian Art and Industry, 1900, H.C. Ackermann's Narrative Stone Reliefs and anything more he can find on these scenes.

Derrett to reply that he has looked at the articles by Burgess in the Journal of Indian Art and Industry but can find no reference to Christian scenes. They do reference the Graeco-Roman style of some of the sculptures. He encloses a photocopy of some of the first article. He replies also that the Society does not have a copy of Ackermann's book on the Narrative stone reliefs in the V&A Museum, London.

In a postscript he asks for an article from the Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal.
