The Papers of Horace Geoffrey Quaritch Wales contain papers relating to his archaeological work in southeast Asia including expedition notes, personal notebooks, diaries, manuscript proofs, correspondence, newspaper cuttings and maps. Listed within this catalogue are objects and items of furniture which were also part of the bequest of Quaritch Wales' wife, Dorothy, to the Royal Asiatic Society.

Wales Vol.I-II 1923-1928", handwritten journals, including hand-drawn maps of the areas, of Wales' travels in South America and Southeast Asia. On title page is written "These early writings are not for publication at any time".

A burgundy and tan hardcover journal. It contains the "Journal of Travel & Observation, H.G.Q. Wales Vol.I 1923-1927", handwritten journal of his travels in South America and Southeast Asia. The journal contains maps of Siam and the neighbouring countries, Java, plan of Petchaburi, Cambodia and Cochinchina, plan of the park of Angkor, ground plan of Angkor Wat and longitudinal section of Angkor Wat. There are also the notes of his journey to a "Himpse of the Pampas", the West & East coasts of the Gulf of Siam, Ayutthaya, Chiangmai, Bangkok-Singapore, Java, Petchaburi, Lopburi, Cambodia & Cochinchina, and Toongmisung.

Wales Vol.II 1927-1928", handwritten journal of his travels in Southeast Asia, containing a map of countries around the South China Sea, and notes on Malacca, British North Borneo (and Labuan), The Philippines, Korat and Eastern Siam, Nakon Pathom and Rajburi (Siam), Sukhothai, Sawankalok and Pisanulok (Siam).

A blue softcover journal. It contains pencil and ink notes and drawings about the journey of Quaritch Wales to the ancient cities in the Southern Thailand, such as Phra Nu [Nho?] in Phang Nga, Tung Tuk in Phang Nga, drawings of the Standing Buddha statue in Dvaravati style found in Wat Keu Chaiya (Suratthani). It also includes plans and drawings of many temples, such as Wat Sala Tung Chaiya, a drawing of the lotus on the top of stupa in Wat Maha That Chaiya, Wiang Sra (Sa Phra Narai) and a drawing of the standing Buddha which is similar to Gupta Buddha, a drawing of Siva shrine in Nakhon Sri Thammarat, and a drawing of the Vishnu statue found at Ho Phra Narai Nakhon Sri Thammarat.
