Letter from E. Denison Ross to C.A. Storey to inform him that at the trustees meeting held on 23 May, it was resolved that for the publication Hudud ud Alam, edited by Vladimir Minorsky, that apart from verbal corrections no further additions to the proofs be allowed and the work should be printed with an index of only the proper names. Denison Ross writes that on reporting this to Minorsky, he found that Minorsky had already created a more detailed index of his notes and commentary. Denison Ross and Professor Nicholson are soliciting the opinion of the trustees as to whether this increased index should be printed. Denison Ross gives an approximate estimate to the costs.

Letter from W.L. Raynes, Clerk to the Trust, to C.A. Storey to inform Storey that he had been sent a copy of the thesis "The Development of Historical Writing among the Moslems in Spain" by Mr S. Goldman of New College, Oxford, with a view to its publication in the Gibb Memorial Series. The Chairman has suggested that Storey may be willing to examine it and report at the next annual trustees meeting in May. Raynes asks if Storey would like to look through the thesis before replying.

Letter from W.L. Raynes, Clerk to the Trust, to C.A. Storey to ask him to sign the enclosed cheque but also to inform that all the stock had been safely housed in boathouses at Newnham, Cambridge, from Dow & Lester in Luton. He writes concerning the difficulty of having it all delivered due to the government's requisitioning of lorries hired for transport. The government had also requisitioned the building used by Dow & Lester and ordered them to clear it.

Letter from R.A. Nicholson to C.A. Storey to ask him to forward the enclosed order form to Luzac after signing it. Nicholson is pleased the stock has been delivered but presumes it is all mixed up and will need arranging before further stock comes from Luzac's. He asks for Storey's suggestions on dealing with this. Nicholson had tried to arrange to return to Cambridge but had been unable to engage rooms so will probably stay in Wales for the summer. He also asks Storey's opinion on Arberry becoming a full trustee as others are no longer in this country (See also GMT/1/3/2).
