              Cutting from The Academy with report entitled, "Important Discovery of Ancient Buddhist Temples and Buddhist Inscriptions by Major-General Cunningham" in which extracts have been taken from a Report presented to the Asiatic Society of Bengal by the Director-General of the Archaeological Survey of India concerning the discoveries at Bharahut. The report has been written by Max Müller. Hodgson has added his own title. dated 1 August 1874.

              Cutting from The Oriental with article entitled, "Buddhist Studies" concerning the discovery of a ruin at Bharhut, but also seeking to expound on the history of India from 200 B.C. to 200 C.E. The article covers Serpent and Tree Worship within the Buddhist religions. This article has been annotated by Hodgson as has the following article on "Early travellers in India". There is a further cutting with review of the book "Buddhism: Its Historical, Theoretical and Popular Aspects in Three Lectures" By Ernest J. Eitel. Hodgson has added title and annotation. Dated 7 August 1875.
