              Copy of a letter from E.H.Johnston (Edward Hamilton Johnston) to John Allan, concerning a Chinese correspondent in Paris, Lin Li-Kouang, who has found a number of references in the Chinese translations which explain satisfactorily Quaritch Wales's Kedah inscription, some of which occur in texts of the Madhyamika school.               Letter from John Allan, Department of Coins and Medals, British Museum, to Quaritch Wales, to clarify the first line of the inscription which contains the Buddhist creed 'ye dharmā hetuprabhava' in that the engraver omitted three words. The date of this inscription is the 4th century. The alphabet is Pallava rather than Gupta. Typed letter, 2 sides, dated 7 March 1939.
