Biographical history
Stuart N. Wolfenden was a linguist and scholar in Tibeto-Burman dialects. He joined the Royal Asiatic Society in 1928 and his book Outlines of Tibeto-Burman Linguistic Morphology was published by the Society in the Prize Publication Fund Series in 1929.

Letter from Stuart N. Wolfenden to William Pettigrew to give updates on the preparation work of the monograph after meeting with Christopher Gimson and Yumjao Singh in Imphal. He writes that Yumjao has recently lost his wife and daughter which impacted his progress, and that he suggested to both the Royal Asiatic Society might be a good place for publishing the book. Typed, dated 17 March 1937.
