Biographical history

Herbert Niel Randle C.I.E. F.B.A. (1880–1973) was the librarian of the India Office Library (1933–49; assistant librarian 1927–33), professor of philosophy at Queen's College, Benares, and a writer on Indian philosophy.

Randle, Librarian of the India Office, to William Pettigrew to say that he has now found a manuscript of 68 folios labelled 'Manipuri MS' in their library and will place it at Pettigrew's disposal. He encloses a letter from Stuart Wolfenden regarding his visit to Imphal. Typed, two letters, dated 20 October 1936-16 March 1937.
