Roland Carter (1924-2018) was a Political Agent in Gilgit 1945; and subsequently a diplomat in Moscow, Helsinki, Kuala Lumpur, Ulan Bator (Ambassador), and Pretoria.

Dr Roger B Parsons worked at the British Library and as Librarian at the Buddhist Society. Upon retirement in 2005, he started volunteering at the Royal Asiatic Society, undertaking cataloguing of the Society's collections, most notably the Rawlinson papers. He volunteered with the Society until mid-2024. In 2023, Roger received Life Membership of the Society in recognition of his work with the collections.
