              Typed manuscript of a 'Lecture delivered by Monsieur A.A. Pallis, Minister attached to the Greek Embassy, at the Turk Halkevi (Turkish People's House) London, on Tuesday, June 5th 1945, at 5.30 p.m.' The title of the lecture is 'A Turkish Seventeenth Century Baedeker: Evliya Tcheleby'. With the manuscript is the business card for Alexandre A. Pallis, Ministre de Grèce.

              Letter from Linnean Society of London to Brian Houghton Hodgson to notify him that he has been elected a Fellow of the Society. It also informs him of meeting times and subscriptions. On reverse is a letter from T. Booth, Secretary of the Society, to state that the fees paid by Nathaniel Wallich on Hodgson's behalf were not sufficient to cover the whole subscription. Printed material with handwritten annotations plus handwritten letter, 2 sides, dated 3 February 1835.

              Letter from Captain Henry Harkness, Secretary to the Royal Asiatic Society, to Brian Houghton Hodgson to thank him for his generous donation of the manuscript scripture of Satasahasrikāprajnāpāramitā and his promise of further donations of various other Buddhist scriptures including the Navadharma from Nepal. The Council are in agreement with Hodgson on the Sanskrit language in which the Buddhist sages first committed their doctrines. Handwritten with printed letterhead, 3 sides, dated 24 January 1836.

              The Gibb Memorial Trust was established in 1902 in memory of Elias John Wilkinson Gibb, a largely self-taught Arabic, Persian, and, above all, of Ottoman Turkish, died age 45 in 1901 and his mother established the Trust. These papers mainly cover the period 1927-1951 and consists of governance, finance and publication documents, produced mainly as a result of Charles Ambrose Storey's involvement as a Trustee of the Trust.
